Last night I was watching my local news when a story about a local miniaturist aired. I was so excited that the Dollhouse Lady made the news. You never really hear about this hobby. I can not tell you how many times I have explained to people that collecting dollhouses and creating miniatures are a legit hobby. It's usually followed by, "I thought that was for kids." Anyway, I love this woman's spirit, she brought me much joy. How awesome is that to still be collecting at 89? Anyway here is the link. Enjoy!!

ReplyDeleteIt always amazes me when people say 'I thought it was for kids' You never hear the same thing being said about people who have a train set or collect model cars. Sheesh =0)
Great story! I'm glad to see our wonderful hobby getting some attention. I agree with Pepper, my husband collects and flies r/c helicopters and nobody ever questions or says they thought it was just for kids. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed watching her interview! I really don't get why it's not more mainstream, especially the more updated modern style. Oh well, we'll just continue to do what we love!
