Making progress, Yay!
I am really proud of myself. I have
consistently worked on the RGT’s project (a huge deal because I get bored
easily) and have made some real progress.
There is still so much more to do. I am cutting cork board for the
stones and planning the interior (idea overload). I made some changes to the
kit’s size. Yeah, so the original kit just didn’t have enough room for the
ideas I have, so I made it bigger. And
with it now bigger, this means more stones…more work. I also have to make some modifications for
windows. Did I mention that I am making
furniture too? Well, I am…Overall I am
happy, excited, and having fun creating.
All the variables needed to stay on task. Here are pictures of my
progress:
I haven't made a firm decision on the layout yet. Hopefully
soon because I need to get moving...and cutting with my new saw. I have a real
love for power tools.

More Changes...
Hope you had a HAPPY EASTER!! My Easter
weekend was great! I went to Hobby Lobby (one of my favorite places). I bought some fabric pieces and spray paint.
So yeah, I have again changed the exterior for the RGT Build-Along Brownstone. It’s
now going to be a stone creation of some sort. I had this idea to use cork
board and spray paint. I did a sample test just to see how it would turn out
and I must say that I am satisfied. I
bought the paint with a 40% off coupon, so it wasn’t too bad. I wanted to use
the clap board siding but I found it was going to cost me a lot more. Plus it’s
more challenging to create a look using unconventional items. I am ready for the challenge. Below are pictures of me playing around with the
spray paint and cork board. It still needs to be tweaked.

So much to do...
So much to do with so little
hours in the day. I do contemplate what
is relevant when I write these posts and try not to ramble. And frankly I over think it. From this day
forward I am just going to go with it (got inspiration from some other
bloggers).
A few things about me…I am nocturnal.
Yes, when most of you are sound asleep in your comfy beds, I am wide awake working. This makes working on my miniatures a bit
challenging. I try to squeeze as much time in as I can and work on small
projects here and there. My first house
the RGT’s Victoria’s Farmhouse hasn’t seen much action this year. I have ignored
all the work that is left to complete this house (Exterior and Interior). I guess that’s why I am pushing myself to
fully commit and finish the Build-Along Project. And that has taken on a life
of its own. It started as just a small side project. SMH. I did find a great new tool
to assist in my efforts. It’s a Dremel Moto Saw (a crafter’s dream tool). There are some great tutorials on YouTube if you want to check it out. Below are pictures of the Dremel and my
Victoria’s Farmhouse at its current status.
As you can see I added an extension on the top floor. I plan to make the double window on the top floor into a french door leading out to a master suite balcony. Again, so much work to do...
And yes its being used for storage...Don't judge me, lol.

And it begins...
Okay, I finally got to work on my RGT's Project. I started by reading the instructions and then trying to find a way to deviate from the plans (shortcut). An hour into it, I realized that this assembly process is for a reason and I should follow the instructions. Here is the beginning process:
Painting and sanding...
And then back to playing around with the exterior. I have rearranged these components and changed the windows and doors several times. It's a shame that I will probably not use any of these in the construction process. I really wanted to brick this Brownstone but it seems that everyone is using brick and I want to be different...so I will try using clapboard siding ( for now anyway). Some of the other bloggers I am following are so far along on this project. To be fair these bloggers are some really amazing Miniaturists. I can only aspire to become that awesome someday. Here are some of my ideas (just some).
I almost feel like I need to scale it down a bit and not over do it. However, I will “Make it work ” (in my best Tim Gunn voice)!
Pre-building and taping off areas that will be glued for painting...
